Around noon today, oil production platform 80 miles off the coast of Louisiana exploded!

Thankfully, the thirteen people who were aboard the platform were accounted for and rescued from the site. No cause for the explosion has been identified yet, but Mariner Energy, the owners of the production platform, released a statement saying that “no hydrocarbon spill has been reported after an initial flyover of the incident.”
